President’s Message

It’s hard to believe that I am writing the last President’s message for the season!  We have had a great year here at WSDHS and I appreciate everyone who has helped make it a success.   I have to admit that I was never one to take on a leadership position and preferred to stay in the background.  Accepting the position of President helped me “step out of my box” and I have learned so much in the process.  I encourage all of you to consider trying something new, even if you are not comfortable with it at first for that is how we grow.

There are always opportunities to help at WSDHS.   Please consider serving on the board or a committee, being a delegate at Annual Session, or mentoring a student.  You will help our profession while working with a great group of hygienists and you will learn so much.  I know that I’m glad that I took the opportunity.

Our last meeting for the year is on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.   WSDHS member Debra Grant, RDH, MA will present Tongue Shui: The Tongue Prophy, Chinese Tongue Diagnosis and Other Alternative Therapies for the Dental Office.  Deb is an excellent speaker who puts a lot of fun into her presentations.  You can be sure there will be laughter along with learning that evening!

I hope that all of you have a wonderful summer filled with fun activities.  Do try something new, you will likely be glad that you did!

Respectfully submitted,

Barbara Hartman, RDH, BSDH
