The Illinois Dental Practice Act requires dental hygienists to complete thirty-six (36) hours of continued dental education (CE) during each three year licensing period ending on September 30, each even numbered year. The Practice Act also requires dental hygienists to hold current CPR certification, hours for CPR cannot be utilized for CE requirements. WSDHS sponsored courses are accepted by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation for license renewal. Other state's regulatory bodies may deem these courses unacceptable to meet their re-licensure requirements. For a copy of the Illinois practice act contact www.state.il.us/dpr/
WSDHS hosts monthly continuing education meetings. You can view the details on 'This Month' page.
