President’s
Message |
|
If you’re like me, you might be
wondering, “Where did the summer go? “
I hope that your summer was full of fun and that you had some time to relax
and perhaps take a vacation. September
not only means the start of the school year; it’s the start of the new year
for WSDHS as well. And I am certainly
excited about serving as President this year! Along with a new start, change can
occur. Change is inevitable in life
and it is necessary for growth.
Sometimes change can be difficult, but if it didn’t happen we would
still be using a porte polisher during our prophies! Now I am really showing my age here. (If you don’t know what that is, picture a
wooden stick on a handle). There are
many changes that are occurring with WSDHS.
I strongly urge you to read
Treasurer Carol Jahn’s letter explaining the
changes along with the reasons for making them. The biggest change is that
there will be no more mailings after the September Newsletter. Instead, we will be relying on our website
(
www.wsdhs.org) and monthly email
communication. Therefore, it is
imperative that we have your email address so that we can continue to keep
you informed. All of the information
that has been in the newsletter will now be present on the website. You will be able to register for meetings
and pay online or download a registration form (all from the website) and
mail it with your check. If we don’t
have your current email address, please visit our website and look for the
link at the bottom of the Home page, click on it and send it in. We want to keep in touch with you! Now more than ever, we need to work together
to ensure that our profession continues in a positive direction. Please
attend our meetings, network with other hygienists and be willing to help and
support WSDHS. I look forward to
seeing you! Respectfully submitted, Barbara A. Hartman, RDH, BSDH President, WSDHS |
